Edwin Raymond has worked in the NYPD for almost 12 years. When speaking out about the internal enforcement of quotas and summons which has mainly targeted communities of color, he’s had to fight to be promoted to ranks that his work had proved he earned. He’s received death threats for fighting against the system.
The Haitian diaspora has it largest population in Brooklyn and has been growing since the late 70s. Community advocates and elected officials finally came together to establish Little Haiti BK. There you can find street vendors who sell organic Haitian goods, island food and of course the resilient people of the island.
